Super Saturday Chess TournamentSat. • Jan. 28 • 10-2 pm Intermediate level youth players & up. Registration Fee $10. All participants who are intermediateplayers and better are invited to our chess tournament. Players at the intermediate level must know all the chess rules and be able to play the game to the end (checkmate). All players will play four games. Medals are awarded for different age groups.
Zen MeditationMondays • 6-7 pm Join us for this peaceful practice. Please bring two firm blankets to sit on and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. Brian Loughnane studied Zen at the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center in California and continues to practice and study Zen Meditation. The class is free and will continue as long as there is sufficient interest. Check more adult programs at the Library
All Seasons Chamber PlayersSunday • January 29th • 2pm The popular All Seasons Chamber Players return Levy, for a program entitled, "Baroque Bash". The ensemble will use its beautiful two-manual Flemish harpsichord in combination with flute and strings to perform favorite works from the Baroque period. The program will include music from countries in the musical vanguard of the Baroque era: Italy, France, Spain and Germany. This event is cosponsored by the Friends of the USR Library. On The Road And At Home with The Rolling StonesFriday • March 23 • 7pm Author and Rolling Stones insider Bill German discusses his ups and downs with "the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band." His recent book, "Under Their Thumb", chronicles how he befriended the Stones while he was just a teenager, and how he became the band's official historian for the next two decades.
