Every Tuesday from 10 to 12 noon, Lucy Bontempi and her team meet to sort through donated books and organize the room for the monthly book sales.

Volunteers are needed to help in the book room and to assist the friends at the monthly Saturday morning sales. Thanks to Lucy, Eileen Georgas, Janis Healy, Virginia Karolis, Gail Liljegren, Rosemarie Manganaro and Alyce Perez, the shelves are fully stocked and ready . They do an outstanding job and it is their efforts that make these book sales so popular as well as a successful fund raiser.

Thanks, also, to all those who have so generously donated their gently-used books. We welcome the gift of these books which are accepted during regular library hours. An added bonus is that this project has become an incredible source of needed books given to hospitals and urban schools in Paterson, the Bronx, Mississippi, and the V.A.. We have helped teachers in inner city schools to create mini libraries in their classrooms by donating age appropriate books. Without this help, many of the urban school classrooms would be without books for children to read and enjoy. Their letters of gratitude, on behalf of their students, are, indeed, heart-warming.
