How to Place a Request for a Book or Other MaterialsWho may use this service: All regular Upper Saddle River library cardholders. Paid card holders may not use the loan request system. When to use this service: The BCCLS Book Request program is intended to help patrons reserve titles that are currently checked out or not owned by our library. Patrons should not request items shown as AVAILABLE at Upper Saddle River in the BCCLS catalog. How to Search: Visit the BCCLs Page and enter your search. You can also View a video on how to search and request materials from BCCLs Your initial search should be conducted using the drop down menu to "Limit" your searching to Upper Saddle River Library. Please note that there may be multiple formats for certain titles. If this search does not find the item you are seeking, change the drop down menu from "Limit" to "Highlight for" so that your search will include all of the BCCLS libraries. Placing the request: Please enter your entire library card number without any spaces and click continue. Please select whether you wish to be notified by email or by phone. How we will fill your request: The library will attempt to fill your request with the title and format requested. If appropriate, we may elect to fill your request with an alternate format that meets your request. continued on the reverse... How long will it take: Patrons will be placed on hold for those items that are owned but currently checked out at the USR library. The length of your wait will depend on the number of copies owned and the demand for a particular title. Requests made to other libraries for available materials will usually take 4-5 business days to be received following the processing of your request. Limits and fees: Patrons are limited to 3 requests per day. There is a $.25 fee for each item that must be requested and brought in from another library. New Audio and Hi-demand materials in the Upper Saddle River Library collection: Hi-demand DVDs and new Audio materials (owned by the library less than six months) may not be placed on reserve. These materials are available on a first come/first served basis. New materials at other libraries: All BCCLS libraries may restrict loan requests on new materials for up to 90 days. Regular library cardholders may visit the owning library and borrow available material in person. |
